A Great Place for Just the Two of You...

Is it just the two of you wanting to get away? At The Little Bear there is privacy and plenty of space to cook, read, relax, talk and romance. Go for a nature walk in the valley. Climb the hills and bluffs. Cook up shrimp and a juicy steak on the grill and relax by a campfire enjoying your favorite drink. Then go for a quiet midnight stroll under the star filled sky to the soothing sounds of the trickling stream, the breeze in the trees and the crickets and tree frogs calling around the pond. The Little Bear home, land and surroundings help you create a stimulating, enchanting and relaxing experience to enjoy with the one you love...

The next morning, sleep in... have a leisure breakfast... and if your feeling adventurous, head out for a fun filled day exploring the area attractions. See Frank Lloyd Wright's personal and impressive Taliesin home and famous Architect School. A SUPER Place to Take Your Family & Friends...

Do you have family or friends? Even if your family is large or you want to vacation together with other families, there is plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax at The Little Bear. You can let the kids sleep together in the extra large 1st bedroom. This is just the place you've been looking for! The large home and kitchen is big enough to handle and feed your whole lively crew.

If four bedrooms, a den and the living room isn't enough space for everyone to bunk down, bring your tents and let the kids sleep outside! No adults, yea! They will love it. For them it will be a camping experience at the same time (without all the hassle for you). The front and side lawn areas are expansive and perfect for pitching as many or as big of tents as you want. Your kids will have a blast and their antics won't keep you up at night (or anyone else for that matter). When they wake up, maybe they'll stay in the tents for a while (while you sleep in)!

During the day your kids will have endless fun roaming the land. They can wear themselves out climbing the hills and bluffs, ponder their existence on Meditation Rock, go fishing and swimming at the pond, play in the stream, climb trees, play tag or ride ATVs (if you have them). At night they can continue to make noise and horse around outside, play hide and go seek, have a small enclosed fire or build a bonfire, roast hot dogs, marshmallows and make s'mores. All this is possible... only at The Little Bear!

On a rainy day or night, there is plenty of room for everyone to relax together inside... play cards, games or build a puzzle on the dining room table. Challenge yourself to The Little Bear's maddening cat puzzle. You can also bring your video game (heaven forbid), hook it up to the large monitor in the living room and let the kids play while you steal away to relax on that much deserved walk of your own.

If the Taliesin and American Players Theater are a bit too sophisticated for the kids, enthrall them by taking them to The House On The Rock, just "minutes" from The Little Bear Retreat, right here in Spring Green! Don't let the name limit your imagination. It is indeed a magnificent piece of architecture set on top a natural rock column overlooking the beauty of the Wisconsin landscape. But it is so much more... You and the kids will not soon forget the house's gravity defying, 100' long overhanging Infinity Room.

But the mind stimulating attraction doesn't stop there. After you've taken in the amazing house, be sure to leave another 2-3 hours more to tour the immense and unbelievably eclectic, breathtaking (and sometimes bizarre) collections Alex Jordan acquired during his world travels. Words cannot describe the expanse and enormity of what you will see. Room after room of eye popping and impressive surprises. Your kids will keep running ahead of you and running back saying "WOW! Mom, Dad! Wait till you see what's in the next room!" You and your kids won't soon forget The House On The Rock. If something outdoors is more to everyone's liking, you can take everyone to Devils Lake or rent a boat, go water skiing or fishing on the Wisconsin River. Not enough? Do they like to be totally entertained?

Then Wisconsin Dells, just 40 miles away, is your destination! This town is a absolute kid's dream. There are many Indoor and Outdoor Water Parks for year-round fun including the largest Outdoor Water Park in America (Noah's Ark). There are numerous Roller Coasters including the Mount Olympus "Hades", a 160 ft tall coaster that plunges to an underground tunnel with a hairpin turn (voted Amusement Today's 2005 "Best New Ride"). And if your kids love Go Carts, there are tracks everywhere at the Dells with multilevel tiered tracks that run under a river and even one that drives straight through a giant wood Trojan Horse.

At the Dells you can also ride the WWII amphibious "Ducks" down thrilling wooded trails that splash into the Wisconsin River finishing with a tour of the beautiful Dells red sandstone canyons and bluffs. There are Jet Boat rides and The Tommy Bartlett Ski Show (a really must see), the most elaborate Mini-Golf Courses, a Ripley's Believe It or Not, a Wax Museum, and much much more. You name it in kids entertainment, they've got it. Your kids will remember for a lifetime the day you took them to Wisconsin Dells.

Does Your Family Include a Special Friend?

Where can you vacation these days without having to impose on friends or family to take care of your canine companion? You hate the idea of leaving your best friend in a cage at an expensive kennel? It can cost $200 to $500 or more to board a dog for a week.
